HER STORY

Two cautious people who weren't looking for love ended up on the dance floor and found it. Thanks to that dance I now have my biggest cheerleader, closest friend, and the love of my life.

Before I met this guy, my plan was to stay away from dating completely until after I graduated. I was quite content with the idea of receiving my degree as a single adult while spending my life serving a community who needed me. For a time my life was a bit chaotic and adding another person to the mess I was in would have been cruel.

He was charming and handsome and I had heard multiple girls in the dorm giggle over his name before. I had met him once by this time, just a quick name exchange, but thought nothing of it. Some of my girlfriends invited me to make a road trip to Memphis after class one day, so of course as soon as my spontaneous butt was out of the class room I was in the car ready to go. This guy was invited to the same trip in a different car and our group ended up spending the whole night together watching high school football and walking Beale street. He made me laugh the whole time we were together and I couldn't help but tell my roomie all about him when I got back to the dorm.

A few weeks later I was invited to go hiking one night to look at the stars with him and a few of our friends. I remember sitting beside him, looking at the stars, and listening to him talk about how big our God is. Of course by this time I couldn't get him out of my mind but refused to let myself get caught up in some boy. I was determined to keep my attention on school and friends.

A month later, I went with a group of twenty people to go dance the night away (until 9:30 pm haha) with a bunch of eighty year olds. He asked me to dance and insisted that I take his hand so he could lead me to the dance floor. So there we were, his hands around my waist and our feet sliding around to the beat of old-fashioned country music. My heart had never beat so fast in my life. That dance was when I decided to stop pushing the idea of him away.

It took me three months of warming up to the idea of this guy. . He took me on our first date and the thought of being single at the time of my graduation didn't sound as appealing anymore. He met all of my friends who gave him the stamp of approval. He met my crazy family and didn't run away. He was so persistent and so patient and all around swoon worthy. He asked me to be his girlfriend on December 8, 2013 and since that day we have grown so close to each other.

I was speechless on October 25, 2014 when Creed asked me to be his girl forever.

This past year has been full of ups and downs that have tested our relationship and made us a team. I am ready to love life together and face the challenges that are ahead of us as one.

HIS STORY

As I was beginning to get ready for a club function, I realized I did not have the material to make my outfit. I went to Goodwill and that was when I laid my eyes on the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. What's so funny is this was the first time I had ever seen Haley and I didn't even say a word to her *I chickened out*

Fast forward, I was sitting in the back of a car getting ready to go to b-rock, I mentioned that Haley should go which I had just met a club mixer the week before! I didn't think they would actually invite her but they did and I never regret letting her name slip out of my mouth. That night, I knew she was someone I wanted to pursue when she followed me down the cliff and we got to know each other! She was the most kind hearted and sincere person I had ever met.

Right before we went on our first date, we went two stepping with a group of friends which I can't even remember their names due to only caring that Haley would be there. As the night went on, one gentleman who shall remain nameless had been quite persistent in dancing with Haley. I began to get a little frustrated so I finally stood up and asked her to dance. This was one of the most bold moves I had ever made on a girl and I'm so glad it was on her! I danced with her and overtime we locked eyes, I couldn't focus on what I wanted to say. After dancing with her a few more times, that fella knew he had lost and gave up. Thank goodness!

A little further, we are at our first date. I was extremely nervous, not knowing if she would think the date would be lame. I took her to eat at pasta grill and then followed up  with a movie. During the movie, I remember looking down at both of ur hands as they were clinched together. I will never forget that feeling of holding Haley's hand, who  I knew would be someone I would care about for a long time. I had never been more mesmerized in my life. I could not believe she had said yes to a date with ME! It was the best first date I had ever been on! She was so much fun and I will never forget it.

During our relationship, we have had a lot of things come up but we have worked through them like champs. She has helped me so much with internal issues that I had never truly faced and I thank her everyday for that. She is the most kind hearted person and is my best friend for life. I know that I can call her anytime of the day and she would be there for me in a second. When I knew all of this, I knew she was the one.
